I obtained my amateur radio license in 1972 but due to becoming a husband and father some time ago, I was obliged to take a substantial break from many of my fun activities; amateur radio included! This period away from my hobbies came to a partial end (more or less) just a couple of years ago and believe it or not, in terms of the radio stuff, I'm still only receiving on HF, with not much interest in VHF and above, especially for phone. My main amateur radio activities have always centred around data modes in some form or other and my energies are currently being put into building my resources up again, albeit slowly, to get back into these things that I have always been keen on being involved with.

Along with my other interests of electronics construction, weather satellites and computers in general, I needed a place to organise and record my activities. Creating a web site seemed like a good idea for doing that, an activity that brings with it the chance for others to comment on my thoughts and work and perhaps benefit from some of it as well.
